Jack + Emily : Blowing Rock NC Marriage Proposal

Today the weather was perfect in our NC Mountains.  We had a full day planned and that included crouching around in the woods like tigers to catch a marriage proposal.  Our littles went with us because we had plans to take them to Tweetise after the shoot.  Taking our kids to sessions is definitely not the norm but Ryan insisted they would do great, and they did awesome!  After our lunch picnic we placed them where at least one of us could see them but be sure they were out of site of Jack and Emily.  These kids took it so serious they whispered for 40 minutes even when we said we will tell you when you have to be quiet.   They were part of the day so we had to include them in some of these images =).  Ryan placed himself in a rhododendron bush with a camo net over his face and body.  I got so tickled at him (picture below).  We separated so we would be sure to have different angles depending on where Jack stopped.  When I heard Emily's voice coming I got all excited...I love surprises! These kind of images are a lot of times our favorite! Real moments. Real Emotions.  Once we got the proposal and came out of hiding, we went back to where Emily's parents were grilling out.  Congratulations you two!  We are excited for you both!! MUCH love.

Marcy + Nathan : Engagement Session North Carolina

Yesterday was Nathan and Marcy's wedding day at Gambill Farms!! Eeeeeek! We absolutely love these two.  We met Marcy several years back when we shot her sister Megan's wedding.  This family we truly love.  So many of our clients turn friends and its such a awesome feeling.  For their engagement session we wanted to incorporate Nathan's love for music and just being outdoors.  A rustic laid back feel.  Enjoy!

Maggie & Tyson: Married | Morganton Wedding Photographers

Oh my goodness this day was so fun and perfect! The weather, the people, the couple!  Maggie and Tyson chose to get married at Maggie's Grandfather's home and it was precious.  We did a first look with Maggie and her Dad and you are going to love it.  You will see this group had FUN at the reception held at The Old Armory Buidling in Morganton!!  The celebration ended with everyone lighting paper lanterns into the sky.  Happy Happy ONE year you two.  MUCH love~ Ryan and Joy                                                                                              

Smithmore Castle: ACES Event Meeting

We attended our most recent ACES event meeting and it was held at the beautiful Smithmore Castle in Spruce Pine NC.  The weather and company was perfect!  South's Clothiers provided models with gown samples!  Floral designs were provided by Kristi Turbyfill of Events by Elizabeth Ashley and Janna Avery of Callista Designs.  A beautiful cake by Hallmark Cakes was displayed with the Queen's crown in the great hall of the Castle.  I heard the cake was wonderful but wasn't able to get a taste.  Sometimes being gluten free has its down moments =).   All the plates used for the event was provided by Miss Match Rentals and even though we were not able to grab pics of those adorable plates trust me when I say her stuff is adorable!  Music for our evening was provided by the talented The Mercury Dames.  You will see images below of rental items available from Fushia Moss Vintage Decor.  She has lots of great finds to add to your photo shoot or special day!  It was lovely chatting and meeting other wedding professionals throughout the evening.   Our evening ended with a sweet surprise from my hubby.  I had misplaced my wedding rings for almost 6 months...yes I know...anyway he found and completely surprised me with asking to marry him again ;).  We are going on twelve years this September!  I will admit I teared up a bit.  Enjoy the images!~ Ryan and Joy

Nathan & Kasey: Wedding | Hudson Uptown Building Wedding

Nathan and Kasey were one of the many weddings we have shot in the recent year that we got rain as our forecast!  I love it when my bride is all smiles when I arrive despite the weather!  Rain just means we get to have more fun.  These two beautiful people were married at Hudson First Baptist and had their reception at the Historic Hudson Uptown Building.  Happy HAPPY Anniversary!  We absolutely adored documenting your day.  Sending tons of love to you! A beautiful day on the beach!!
