Father's Day

Happy Father's to all those Dad's out there.  To be a Father is one thing but to be a Dad is an entirely different picture.  This of course is my opinion, however it takes a lot more love, care and time to be a Dad.  This "first look with Dad" is sure one to NOT miss.  In 12 years of shooting weddings this one is the BEST.  This is what photography is about.  Capturing emotion true and raw.  I realize it can't always be this raw but when it is... its huge.  Looking ahead 10-15 years I can completely say this will be Ryan and Jayla... (I'll be there sobbing as well).  Emily and Daryl thank you for allowing us to be the ones to capture this moment.

Sam + Carrie : Summit Trail Solarium Wedding Boone NC

Sam and Carrie chose their sweet little home church to say "I DO".  This day was beyond fabulous.  We got to work along side the wonderful planners with The Whole Shebang along with so many other awesome wedding venders.  The weather was beautiful.  We decided to head to Daniel Boone Gardens in Boone to do the their first glance and the wedding party pics.  Everyone was so green and beautiful!  After their super sweet ceremony where they literally tied the knot =) we headed to the Appalachian Summit Trail Solarium for the reception.  Take a look at Sam and Carrie's awesome winter engagement here.  Thanks so much you two for allowing us to be a part of your day.  MUCH love.

This day last year was Jordan and Kelsey's beautiful, fantastic, perfect, awesome, fun day!! The weather was much colder than it is today and it was a bit wet but none of that stopped us!  This group was so great to work with and spend an entire day capturing their love and friendship.  Happy ONE year you two!! Oh my goodness this day was so fun and perfect! The weather, the people, the couple!  Maggie and Tyson chose to get married at Maggie's Grandfather's home and it was precious.  We did a first look with Maggie and her Dad and you are going to love it.  You will see this group had FUN at the reception held at The Old Armory Buidling in Morganton!!  The celebration ended with everyone lighting paper lanterns into the sky.  Happy Happy ONE year you two.  MUCH love~ Ryan and Joy                                                                                              

Smithmore Castle: ACES Event Meeting

We attended our most recent ACES event meeting and it was held at the beautiful Smithmore Castle in Spruce Pine NC.  The weather and company was perfect!  South's Clothiers provided models with gown samples!  Floral designs were provided by Kristi Turbyfill of Events by Elizabeth Ashley and Janna Avery of Callista Designs.  A beautiful cake by Hallmark Cakes was displayed with the Queen's crown in the great hall of the Castle.  I heard the cake was wonderful but wasn't able to get a taste.  Sometimes being gluten free has its down moments =).   All the plates used for the event was provided by Miss Match Rentals and even though we were not able to grab pics of those adorable plates trust me when I say her stuff is adorable!  Music for our evening was provided by the talented The Mercury Dames.  You will see images below of rental items available from Fushia Moss Vintage Decor.  She has lots of great finds to add to your photo shoot or special day!  It was lovely chatting and meeting other wedding professionals throughout the evening.   Our evening ended with a sweet surprise from my hubby.  I had misplaced my wedding rings for almost 6 months...yes I know...anyway he found and completely surprised me with asking to marry him again ;).  We are going on twelve years this September!  I will admit I teared up a bit.  Enjoy the images!~ Ryan and Joy
